Reserva de cama durante una hospitalización o una salida: Medicaid de Texas paga la reserva de cama (bed hold) solo durante una visita terapéutica a casa de hasta 3 días, si un médico autorizó esas visitas en el plan de cuidado y el hogar de ancianos documenta la visita; una visita de más de 3 días se trata como un alta desde el primer día. El plan estatal no paga la reserva de cama durante una estancia en el hospital. Antes de un traslado al hospital o de una licencia terapéutica, el hogar de ancianos debe dar información por escrito sobre su política de reserva de cama, y solo puede cobrar por reservar una cama mediante un acuerdo por escrito, sin superar la tarifa diaria de Medicaid y no por los días que el estado esté pagando.
