How these reports are made
- Every figure is calculated by Nursing Home Checker from files CMS publishes. Each report lists the exact CMS fields, the months compared and which homes are included or left out.
- Averages are simple averages across homes: each home counts once, whatever its size.
- The reports are recalculated from the latest CMS files each time CMS publishes new data.
- A state figure describes the homes in that state as a group. It does not tell you about any one home. To look at one home, search by name, city or ZIP code.
